Detoxification is the process of removing toxins & can be done in a variety of ways. Adjusting your diet is an everyday way to detox. Certain foods are loaded with antioxidants, which make them better for your health. That being said, not every detox is created equally.

Universally, we should all avoid processed foods & drink more water. But, everyone is different, so everyone’s diet should be different. Changing any bad habit is hard, and taking baby steps is very important. Having a healthy diet can help you in more ways than you may know, but drastic changes to your diet can hurt you too. Additionally, there are some less than favorable side effects that come from detoxing too.

Crash dieting is often confused as detoxing, but really you’re just purposefully starving yourself of some nutrient(s), which is dangerous & in some cases, fatal.

While it may seem tempting to engage in dramatic and rapid weight-loss, it’s not something that you should do on your own. Medically supervised diets can provide the appropriate safety measures to protect you while you lose weight, monitor your health for side effects, and help to assure your safety. If you are thinking of attempting rapid weight-loss on your own, it is important to consider the possible risks and talk to your doctor if you have any health conditions.

There are plenty of safe and healthy ways to detox, and you should always consult your doctor or seek the help of a nutritionist.
